About this video
Another day, another Latin word your barber has never mentioned. CAPILLUS. Dr. Ken Anderson, MD explains it better than your high school Latin teacher ever could.
Transcript
Today’s weird hair word is capillus. Capillus. That’s right.
Capillus. C A P I L L U S. It is a noun.
It’s origins are actually unknown. And what does it mean? It means a hair.
And if we’re talking about the plural form, well, of course, that would be capilli. Capilli. That’s right.
So, how would we use that in a sentence? I think I’m losing my capilli. In fact, in the shower, I saw a rather long capillus on the shower wall.
I need to go see Dr. Anderson at Anderson Center for Hair, so he can replace my capilli.
