Dr. Anderson’s Day 1 Post-op with Dr. Neel Malhotra (2nd Surgery)

Hello this is Dr Ken Anderson I’m here at the Anderson Center for hair in Alpharetta Georgia today we are pleased to have Dr Neil malholtra he’s a hair transplant surgeon and dermatologist from Edmonton Alberta in Canada so an international visit today welcome thanks how are you today I’m doing very well thanks so Neil’s been known to the practice and myself friend and colleague for over a year now y he came down to one of our classes that we taught here and then came just by himself afterwards for some special oneon-one training I walked him through how to do fuee procedure an FUT procedure and then he actually underwent an FUE procedure about a year ago he came back to see us a couple of days ago for for a touchup procedure which was which was yesterday yeah and so we’re just doing a little F filment to talk about your experience with the procedure both you know whatever you want to say your your proced procedure was just yesterday yeah it look like you’re feeling pretty good I feel totally normal I look totally normal so yes it’s my second time with the Anderson team and I came back because my experience was great I came again just for a little bit of a touch-up enhancement procedure came yesterday it’s been not even maybe 15 hours and I feel and look exactly the same I actually am flying back home in a few hours back to Canada I have a full Clinic datebook tomorrow so I’ll be back to work and I feel fine so 2 days after the procedure you’re back to work full-time yep very very good so what would you tell viewers out there that are kind of curious I know that it’s funny hair transplant surgery as you know patients can be a little bit hesitant because they don’t know really what they’re getting into but you know since I know you perform the procedure you’re also a patient so you have a unique perspective on on this what what would you should tell someone who’s kind of on the fence about this or wondering you know cuz a lot of people are scared they think it’s really painful or I think they’re going to be out of commission for a week you know absolutely I completely agree a lot of my patients say and feel the same things and you know after going through it myself I think I can say this you know wholeheartedly that to not let those things stop you from doing something that can really help you and change your life I think that pain especially with the newer techniques that people do like yourself is minimal really if any postoperatively as you can see it’s not even 15 hours and I’m back to normal so I think postoperative downtime again is minimal if anything and you just see the results so I think if it’s something you know if you’re deemed a good candidate for the procedure by a hair restoration surgeon like Dr Anderson or myself you should just do it the sooner you do it the happier you’ll be I feel don’t let things like fear and downtime bog you down from doing a very like sophisticated procedure and getting you to where you want to be yeah and and and to you guys watching it might sound like you know a sales pitch oh do it sooner I promise you this is you know this is what Pat I’ve been doing this about 20 21 years now this is what patients often say to us when when they come back with their results you’re like man I don’t know why I waited cuz it’s surprising how how how painless it is p patience you know and that’s not to say I want to point out something it’s not to say it can’t there you can read stories online about how painful it was yeah you can make this procedure painful it’s all about how it’s done if the doctor knows what he’s doing ad administers the ad ministers the anesthesia correctly does the surgery correctly it really should be a near painless process even less intense than going to have your teeth cleaned at the hygienist the main thing patients are concerned about is discomfort and are they going to look unusual but you know it’s a hairby hair transplant the hair needs to look like it’s always been there not like somebody put it bag so I think like Dr maatra here you you you’d be surprised I mean how natural it can look and some like Dr mhra said he came back for a little enhancement procedure he just wanted the maximum density along the frontal hairline he’s a young man and so I would say in my practice about two or three% of patients come back you know within with within a couple of years without any further hair loss just to kind of get that extra little amount but the overwhelming majority of patients are are more than satisfied with one procedure and absolutely yeah you find that in your practice as well yeah absolutely I think it’s more especially just the younger younger guys kind of similar to myself on the younger side that was saying I just want a little bit more of that enhancement and they’ll come a year and a half couple years later and it’s a much smaller procedure it’s like you know it’s that is that does happen but even to them like myself you know I could have waited even longer to do the enhancement but like I just I want that hair now so I just came as soon as it was like really I could see the spaces that I wanted to fill just come into it and it’s like nothing in out in and out it was good yeah okay well great to see you man great to see you too we just I just walked him through leny your FUT procedure
