Hi I’m Dr Neil motra I’m a dermatologist and hair restoration surgeon from Edmonton Canada and I’m seeing Dr Anderson for my second hair transplant and here’s my hair Journey did you first know your hair loss and how is it that you could tell what to the signs so for me I was very concerned about my hair since a young age and so I I was pretty I I was probably around the age of 30 31 when I first started noticing hair loss and so as you can see I have hair but I was first just the beginning of just seeing the rounding of my for rounding of my forehead when I look in I feel like okay my forehead’s bigger than it was I used to have kind of a more evenly proportioned face but this was getting longer and longer and I especially see it back here my left side was a lot higher than my right and it was always always bother me I never wanted to part my hair that way or I always try to find ways to hide it get to myself and although it wasn’t you know very noticeable to everyone like I looked at it every time I looked in the mirror and it was always like a struggle I got to be honest yeah what made you go from thinking about your hair loss to doing something about what was the Bion you know it was really seeing it in photographs and really feeling like okay my forehead is looking substantially bigger than it was and I just didn’t like the way it looked and I you know I work in hair restoration so I know what it takes and how to maintain that and you know and I know what great results you can have if you really commit to treatment and medical and Surgical modalities and way of treating it then I was like you know what this is the point I’m going to do it and so it’s really the photographs when you really when I really started noticing okay my phot it’s looking a lot bigger than it used to what type of prevention do you do in addition to having had procedure so I’m a dermatologist so I manage hair L St so I take everything so I’m taking oral finasteride oral dutasteride topical faside topical R game neutri fall light devices and PRP so I do it all does your family have a history of hair loss yes and that’s part of the reason why I commit so strongly to these medical therapies because they really help me keep the hair that I have the hair that’s thick and healthy looking and it really helps me maintain any hair transplant that I’ve done long term and kind of keeps it looking good as good as possible for as long as possible when you’re selecting a hair surgeon what set Dr Anderson apart what makes him the doctor for you his experience and his results so that was kind of the first thing so he’s just very well respected in the community I work in the hair transpant community so I’ve been he’s well known to be that way on the national International type of Arena he’s very well respected that way so I’ve heard of him and if you see his results and so that’s kind of why I beened him with somebody I wanted to consult with and then he’s just a cool guy we had a good time doing the consultation I’ve come here now it’s my second time here it’s just a good experience So speaking of your second procedure what are you looking forward to most about this time around what what’s the what the end goal as the result that you’re looking for so you know my I was very happy with my first transplant I think you know I spoke to Dr Edison specifically I was very happy with how he designed my hairline and think I’m very particular about that so I was very satisfied with and very happy not just satisfi very happy with what you had designed and so and I just I I just wanted to get a little bit more density this time that’s all so you know everything he planted grew I had some hairs that were actively kind of disappearing in in between the those areas and so those areas opened up a little bit but everything he planted grew very well I just wanted to add a little bit more density just cuz it’s my front to my hairline I want to be able to just kind of pull it back fully and just feel that fullness and so it’s just a smaller second transplant also give me an excuse to come back and see everyone again everyone who really cool and fun to work with so double this two two two good things when you were contemplating your hair surgery did you talk to family friends did you get any secondary opinions or is this something you to B on own I I just I knew what I wanted to do so I just went for it excellent yeah if you were going to give advice to people who are considering surgery for the first time what kind of what kind of thing do you have That’s Unique couldn’t don’t let the concept of surgery just make you shy away from being happy about your hair I think that really understanding that this is a procedure that’s been become so sophisticated and has become so streamlined and so effective that don’t sh from things about worry about pain or discomfort like if you’re going to a good surgeon like Dr Anderson you know their keys excent with anesthesia that treat the whole procedure goes well very smoothly great staff and you know you’re in good hands I think that people get a bit shy from it but you know you can get really good results that you can maintain really long term and you can be very happy so why why not doer and you mentioned pain a lot of our patients say that it’s not a painful procedure did you find that to be no I actually loved this experience I think I actually changed some of my anesthesia protocol that I use based on what Dr aderson used because I was so comfortable during the procedure so that’s one of my like five star A+ for Dr Anderson’s thing was I was extremely comfortable and yeah the anesthesia was excellent
